Death
- American lawyer and politician active in the early 19th century.
- Born in a rural agricultural community and received a well-rounded education.
- Graduated from Brown University in 1788, where he studied law.
- Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and began practicing law in Uxbridge, Massachusetts.
- Served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1809 to 1814.
- Elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 1814 and served until 1815.
- Elected to the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1816 to 1821, filling a vacancy and participating in three consecutive congresses.
- Reelected to the Massachusetts State Senate in 1822, serving until 1825.
- Died in Uxbridge in 1837 and is buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
