  • Elected as a Republican representative for Michigan’s 13th congressional district.
  • Introduced a bill in 1922 advocating for radio coverage of House proceedings, which did not pass.
  • Prior to Congress, held various legal and political positions, including legal adviser to the Michigan State Labor Department and assistant corporation counsel for Detroit.
  • Served in the Michigan State Senate in 1919 and 1920.
  • Drafted the automobile traffic ordinance for Detroit, which became a model for other cities.
  • After his congressional term, elected as a judge of the Wayne County Circuit Court, serving until 1954.
