Amends the Older Americans Act of 1965 to authorize grants for training and support services for families and unpaid caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.
Grants can be awarded to public or nonprofit private home and community-based service providers.
Eligible grant recipients include health care organizations, community health centers, senior centers, area agencies on aging, community-based organizations, and public health agencies.
Grant recipients must provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services and allocate at least 50% of funding to direct services for caregivers.
Administrative expenses for grant-funded programs are limited to a maximum of 10% of the total grant funding.
The Secretary of Health and Human Services is required to consult with relevant health and minority health offices to ensure diverse communities benefit from the services.
Priority for grants is given to nonprofit providers that serve underserved communities.
The Secretary will conduct outreach to inform eligible providers in low-income and minority communities about grant opportunities.
Authorizes appropriations for the program for fiscal years 2025 through 2029.
