Publishing annual recommendations and findings related to firearm violence and existing laws.
The Board will consist of 22 members with diverse expertise, including public health, mental health, law enforcement, and firearm violence research.
Members will serve terms of four years, with initial terms staggered to ensure continuity.
Members will receive compensation and travel expenses as per federal regulations.
The Secretary of Health and Human Services will appoint a chair, and the Board will elect a vice chair.
The Board is required to meet at least monthly.
Authorizes appropriations of $5 million for the first two fiscal years and $25 million for each subsequent year to support the Board’s activities.
