Won the Republican nomination for his congressional seat in 2014 and has been reelected in subsequent elections through 2022.
Served in the United States Air Force from 1984 to 1992 as a communications operations specialist and received awards for his participation in various military operations.
Earned an Associate of Applied Science in telecommunications technology and a Bachelor of Science in occupational education and information systems technology.
Founded a company called Innovative Network Systems, Inc. after his military service.
Began his political career as chairman of the Bartow County Republican party before serving in the Georgia House of Representatives and the Georgia State Senate, where he held various committee roles and received several awards.

Co-sponsored a bill to eliminate the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and introduced legislation that would reduce consumer protections in relation to credit bureaus.

Signed an amicus brief supporting the Texas v. Pennsylvania lawsuit contesting the 2020 presidential election results and voted against certifying electoral votes for Arizona and Pennsylvania.
Supports economic freedom, a balanced budget amendment, tax reform, and the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
Opposes federal legalization of same-sex marriage and is anti-abortion, believing life starts at conception.
Voted against the PACT ACT which expanded VA benefits and also voted against the 2022 MORE Act related to cannabis.
