  • Served in the New York State Assembly in 1820-21 and again in 1836.
  • Elected to the 17th United States Congress to fill a vacancy, serving from December 3, 1821, to March 3, 1823.
  • Served as district attorney of Orange County from 1835 to 1841.
  • Held the position of President of the Board of Trustees of the village of Montgomery for ten years.
  • Married with five children.
  • Died at the age of 65 and is interred at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery.
