Born in 1984 in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and journalism from New Mexico State University in 2008.
Served as news editor and editor-in-chief of New Mexico State University’s student-run newspaper, The Round Up.
Worked as the business editor for the Las Cruces Bulletin from 2008 to 2011.
Served as the executive director of the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2011.
Worked as a field representative for Senator Martin Heinrich from 2013 to 2015.
Held positions in various advocacy and conservation organizations, including vice president of communications for First Focus, director of community relations for the New Mexico Wildlife Federation, deputy director for New Mexico’s chapter of the Wilderness Society, and deputy director of the Western Conservation Foundation’s federal lands department.
Served on the Las Cruces City Council from 2017 to 2021.
