American politician who served in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Represented New Jersey’s 6th congressional district from 1879 to 1881.
Member of the Republican Party.
Received a classical education and studied law, being admitted to the bar in 1852.
Served in the New Jersey General Assembly in 1857.
Was a delegate to the 1876 Republican National Convention.
Elected to the Forty-sixth Congress but did not seek renomination in 1880.
After his congressional term, returned to law practice and became president of a gas company in 1893.
Passed away in 1899 and was interred in Rosedale Cemetery.
