- Served as a judge of the Orange County Court of Common Pleas from 1815 to 1818
- Was a presidential elector in 1816, voting for James Monroe and Daniel D. Tompkins
- Served multiple terms as the supervisor of the town of Montgomery
- Died in Montgomery, Orange County, New York, and is interred at Berea Churchyard, near Newburgh, New York
- Had six children with spouse Elsie Eager
