Death
- Served as a U.S. Representative from Kentucky for three consecutive terms from 1905 to 1911.
- Worked as a teacher and later studied law, being admitted to the bar in 1878.
- Practiced law after being admitted and also entered the mercantile business in 1885.
- Held the position of judge in Greenup County from 1894 to 1901, with a reelection in 1897.
- Participated in the Republican State central committee in the early 1900s.
- Was unsuccessful in his bid for reelection in 1910.
- Continued practicing law until his death in 1923.
