Advocates for universal background checks for firearm purchases, red flag laws, and raising the minimum age to purchase a gun to 21.
Opposes abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).
Initially cautious about impeaching President Donald Trump but voted in favor of launching an impeachment inquiry in October 2019 and for articles of impeachment in December 2019.
Grew up in a military family and has had breast cancer twice.
