  • Was a member of the Georgia State Senate for the 39th district from 2017-2021.
  • Served as one of 16 electors for Georgia in the Electoral College following the 2020 United States presidential election.
  • Raised in Smiths Station, Alabama, with a family background of community leadership and historical significance.
  • Graduated from Talladega College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

  • Held her seat in the 2022 elections against a Republican opponent.
  • Voted against the final passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 and against the expulsion of former New York representative George Santos.
  • Holds committee assignments in the Committee on Financial Services, including the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.
