Graduated from the State Normal School of Pennsylvania and Milton College’s law department.
Worked as a reporter, correspondent, managing editor, and publisher in various states from 1893 to 1901.
Involved in the Pan-American Exposition in 1901, present during President McKinley’s assassination.
Held positions such as managing editor of the Buffalo Enquirer and director of publicity for the Jamestown Exposition.
Moved to Janesville, Wisconsin, in 1920 to become editor of the Janesville Gazette until 1939.
Elected as a Republican representative for Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district.
Opposed the Lend-Lease policy and sought to exclude the Soviet Union from the program.
Died in Washington, D.C., and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville, Wisconsin.
