  • Elected to the Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth Congresses
  • Declined renomination in 1898 to return to newspaper management
  • Served as president of the Union Trust Co. of Boston
  • Died of pneumonia in 1906 and was interred in Newton Cemetery
  • Married Annie Louise Bailey and had four children
