- Elected as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, serving from 1837 to 1841.
- Served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1840 to 1842.
- Appointed deputy sheriff of Butler County.
- Died in Butler, Pennsylvania in 1851 and was interred in the Old Butler Cemetery.
