Senate and House - Continue to support increased funding for BIA & DOJ Law Enforcement for Indian Country; support FY26 House mark for BIA/OJS over the lower Senate mark; support efforts to fully fund Indian housing and use I.H.S. water funding for new housing; support S. 2022, Tribal Tax Investment and Reform Act, including legislation to provide direct Low Income Housing Tax Credits for Indian Country; support increased funding and advanced appropriations for I.H.S. and its implementation; advocate that all federal departments and agencies not be eliminated, reduced, or harmed through the implementation of the budget reconciliation law and to stop proposed RIFs; advocate for passage of the Wounded Knee Massacre Memorial and Sacred Site Act. DOI & DOJ - Continued to advocate for Indian country law enforcement enhancement of funding & services. BIA & USDA/Forest Service - Continued work on funding of firefighting and fuel reduction agreement for Black Hills Forest under Tribal Forest Protection Act.
