H.R. 1065-"Protect Our Letter Carriers Act"-legislation that appropriates money to install high security collection boxes, replaces arrow key with an electronic version, appoints an assistant US attorney to coordinate and supervise the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed against postal employees, and amends sentencing guidelines to assaults and robberies against postal employees to be treated the same as an assault against law enforcement officers. The NRLCA endorsed this bill. H.R. 758-"Mail Traffic Deaths Reporting Act"-legislation that would require the USPS to issue regulations to mandate the collecting, tracking, and public reporting of information related to deaths and injuries resulting from traffic crashes involving vehicles transporting the mail. The NRLCA has not taken a position on this bill.

The NRLCA endorsed this legislation. H.R. 491-"Equal COLA Act"-legislation that applies COLAs for annuities under FERS that is equal to the increase in inflation. The NRLCA supports this legislation. S. 624-"Equal COLA Act"-Senate companion to H.R. 491, the legislation would provide FERS cost of living adjustments equal to the increase in inflation. The NRLCA supports this legislation.
