Precision Scheduled Railroading - TCU communicated with Congress, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Department of Transportation, and theSurface Transportation Board to register our ongoing concerns with safety and service issues tied to the Class 1 freight railroads' operating model "Precision Scheduled Railroading." This includes pressures applied to mechanical and intermodal craft employees, resignations, and resultin goverall supply chain issues. Rail Safety - TCU routinely communicates with Congress and the Federal Railroad Administration with regards to rail safety issues as it pertains to our members, including regulations regarding brake and mechanical inspections, as well as operational concerns. Railway Safety Act of 2025 - TCU communicated with House and Senate offices in support of the legislation as it pertains to rail car inspections. Truck Size and Weight - TCU communicated to Congress our continued opposition to any increases in the federal limits on truck sizes orweights.TCU opposes this for both safety and competitive reasons. Rail Inspection Data - TCU has communicated with the FRA to determine empirical data on freight car mechanical inspections Digital Inspection Portals - TCU communicated with the FRA and Members of Congress regarding the use of digital inspection portals for inspections on Class I railroads and Amtrak
