Referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill would make it easier for some low-income adults to afford their Medicare drug coverage when they turn 65. If you were on Medicaid right before your 65th birthday and your income is below about twice the federal poverty level, you would automatically get extra help paying your Medicare Part D drug plan premiums and copays for a limited time. The exact length of this help would be set by the federal government.
The change would start with plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2027.
