This bill would keep extra help for Marketplace health insurance in place for one more year, through 2026. It continues larger premium tax credits and keeps more people eligible, including some with incomes above 400% of the federal poverty level. In short, many families would keep paying less for their monthly premiums for another year.
It does this by extending rules so the higher assistance amounts and the expanded eligibility don’t end after 2025. The changes would apply to tax years starting after December 31, 2025, effectively covering 2026 plans and premiums.
