Introduced on March 25, 2025 by Peter Stauber
Referred to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
This proposal would create a nationwide safety campaign to warn drivers about the dangers of illegally passing stopped school buses. The Department of Transportation would run ads on TV, radio, social media, and other online services so the message reaches a wide audience, not just certain regions or digital-only platforms. The campaign would be paid for with funds already provided under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The goal is to reduce dangerous driving around school buses and keep children safer as they get on and off the bus. By using many types of media, the campaign aims to make more drivers aware and change behavior nationwide.
