This bill would stop states and cities from banning or limiting access to certain kinds of energy. Local rules could not block or restrict new hookups, reconnections, installations, or expansions of energy service just because of the type or source of energy, like natural gas or electricity . The goal is to let homes and businesses choose the energy they want.
The bill lists many types of energy it protects, including natural gas, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, liquefied petroleum gas (propane), renewable propane, other petroleum products, biomass-based diesel and other renewable fuels, and electricity .
