Referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This measure is a formal statement urging Medicare’s parent agency (CMS) to stop a pilot program that uses artificial intelligence to decide what care Medicare will cover. It warns that using AI for these decisions could make it harder for seniors to get the care they need and asks CMS not to rely on AI in ways that might block or delay treatment .
It does not change the law by itself. Instead, it tells the agency what the House thinks should happen: pause the AI pilot and avoid using AI if it risks seniors’ access to care .
