FBI Animal Cruelty Taskforce Act of 2025

This bill creates a new Animal Cruelty Crimes Taskforce inside the FBI to investigate and enforce federal laws against animal cruelty, including dogfighting, cockfighting, and “crush” videos. The taskforce will also create training materials to help local police find and investigate these crimes.

The taskforce must work with other federal agencies, like the Department of Agriculture, the Marshals Service, and Customs and Border Protection, to share information and coordinate cases. Each year, starting one year after the law takes effect, it must report to Congress on how many cases were charged, where they happened, how many led to convictions, and how many investigations did not result in charges.
