SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the or the .
SEC. 2. Report on foreign-made heavy and small arm weapons
- (a) Study
- The Secretary of Defense shall conduct a study on the prevalence of small arms and light weapons that are used by members of the Armed Forces, and parts for such small arms and light weapons that—
- were manufactured outside of the United States; or
- were manufactured in the United States by a subsidiary of a foreign-owned entity (as determined by the Secretary).
- The Secretary of Defense shall conduct a study on the prevalence of small arms and light weapons that are used by members of the Armed Forces, and parts for such small arms and light weapons that—
- (b) Report
- Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to Congress and the President a report on the study required by subsection (a) that includes recommendations for procuring small arms and light weapons that are wholly manufactured in the United States by entities that are owned and controlled by individuals located in the United States.

- The term
small arms and light weapons,small arms/light weaponshas the meaning given the term in section 273.3 of title 32, Code of Federal Regulations.
