The Military Helicopter Training Safety Act of 2025 tells the Department of Defense to study and report on adding two safety tools to all military helicopters: a traffic alert and collision avoidance system, and ADS‑B IN. ADS‑B IN lets pilots see nearby air traffic and weather information, which can improve safety in busy skies. The department must send Congress two reports within 90 days after the law takes effect.
Each report must cover costs, any cockpit changes needed, effects on the safety of civilian airspace, and how these tools could affect combat, training, or security missions. If installing the tools isn’t possible, the reports must suggest similar options instead.
