This bill tells the Small Business Administration (SBA) to run a program that helps military spouses start, run, and grow small businesses. Help must be available online and can include guidance on forming a business, moving a business during permanent changes of station, and building key skills to keep a business going through deployments and time away from work. The SBA can set up a new program or adapt an existing one for military spouses, and it can partner with groups that support military spouse entrepreneurs to offer mentoring. The SBA can also add other types of help as needed .
The SBA must survey military spouses to find the biggest barriers they face—like getting capital and training—and report the results within 180 days of the law taking effect. The SBA must use what it learns to shape the program and do outreach so people know about it. The agency may consult with the Department of Defense as needed .
