SEC. 1. Short title

• This Act may be cited as the “”.

SEC. 2. Sense of Congress

• It is the sense of Congress that the United States should target Iran’s emerging gas industry for the imposition of sanctions.

SEC. 3. Prohibition on Iranian natural gas

• The Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act of 20212 is amended as follows:
  • In section 1244 () by amending subsection (h) to read as follows: 22 U.S.C. 8803
    • (h) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas
      • Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.
  • In section 1247 () by amending subsection (e) to read as follows: 22 U.S.C. 8806
    • (e) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas
      • Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.
