This measure would bar lawmakers from bringing or showing any foreign country’s flag on the U.S. House floor while the House is meeting. It makes two small exceptions: a member may wear a foreign flag as a lapel pin, and may use an image of a foreign flag as part of a visual aid during a speech or debate allowed under House rules .
For the public, this mainly affects what you might see during TV coverage of House sessions. You would not see full foreign flags displayed on the floor, though small pins and flag images used in speeches would still be allowed .
