This measure would overturn an EPA rule that set tougher standards to reduce lead in drinking water. The EPA’s rule would have required public water systems to replace all lead service lines, and some galvanized lines, within 10 years to help protect families from lead exposure . By nullifying that rule, these new requirements would not take effect . The rule being blocked is the EPA’s “National Primary Drinking Water Regulations for Lead and Copper: Improvements (LCRI)” .
