This bill would make certain small airlines and public charter services follow the same core TSA security rules that big airlines use. Within about one year of the law taking effect, TSA must update its policies so these flights are covered by the standard Aircraft Operator Security Program used for airline screening.
It applies to operators that sell individual seats to the public on set schedules, fly larger small planes (more than nine seats), and currently don’t use TSA-run checkpoints at airports. TSA must revise its rules and guidance to make this happen.
