SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the or the .
SEC. 2. Ineligibility as a result of labor disputes
- (a) Provision of State laws
- Section 303(a) of the Social Security Act () is amended by adding at the end the following: 42 U.S.C. 503(a)
- A requirement that, as a condition of eligibility for regular compensation for any week, an individual not be unemployed during such week as the result of a strike or other labor dispute (other than a lockout) that such individual—
- is participating in,
- providing financial support to, or
- has a direct interest in.

- (b) Federal Unemployment Tax Act amendment
- Paragraph (5) of of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 is repealed. section 3304(a)
- (c) Effective date
- The amendments made by this section shall apply beginning on the date that is 2 years after the date of enactment of this Act, except that nothing in this section shall be interpreted to prevent a State from amending its law before the end of the 2-year period beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act.
