SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the Stop Trump’s Abuse of Power Act.
SEC. 2. Modification of authority to use Armed Forces to enforce Federal authority
- Section 252 of title 10, United States Code, is amended—
- by inserting before ; and
- (b) Peaceful protests and demonstrations
- Notwithstanding subsection (a), the President may not deploy a member of a regular component of the Armed Forces serving on active duty within a State or territory of the United States to respond to a peaceful protest or demonstration except upon the request of the governor or chief executive of the State or territory.
- (b) Peaceful protests and demonstrations
- by adding at the end the following new subsection:
- by inserting before ; and
