SEC. 1. Short title
- This Act may be cited as the Supporting Our Surviving Spouses Act.
SEC. 2. Removing statute of limitations on certain claims against United States Government
- (a) In general
- Section 3702(b)(1) of title 31, United States Code, is amended—
- in subparagraph (A), by striking
orat the end; - in subparagraph (B), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and
- a claim for survivor benefits under subsection (a)(1)(A) by a survivor of a member of the armed forces who died in the line of duty on or after September 11, 2001, in which case no time limitation for the receipt of such claim shall apply.

- The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to a claim filed on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
