This resolution supports naming April 11–17, 2025, as Black Maternal Health Week to bring national attention to the maternal health crisis in the U.S. and the need to reduce deaths and serious health problems among Black women and birthing people . It recognizes the week founded by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance and highlights the importance of safer pregnancies, births, and postpartum care for Black families .
The goal is to raise awareness and encourage focus on solutions that lower maternal deaths and complications in Black communities .
