SEC. 1. Uniform requirements for United States immigration officers
- Section 287 of the Immigration and Nationality Act () is amended by adding at the end the following: 8 U.S.C. 1357
- (h)
- The Secretary of Homeland Security shall require covered immigration officers to identify themselves as such officers by displaying bold and visible identification during a time of action.
- For the purposes of this subsection—
- the term means—
bold and visible identification- (i) identification of the agency that the covered immigration officer represents no smaller than 12 inches by 6 inches on the front or back of the uniform of such officer; and
- (ii) the identification described under clause (i) is not covered by external pieces of a uniform, including external armor or accessories;
- the term means—
covered immigration officer- (i) personnel of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection;
- (ii) personnel of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and
- (iii) any other official deputized by the Secretary of Homeland Security to engage in immigration enforcement actions.
- the term includes any immigration enforcement action such as a patrol, raid, pickup, or serving a warrant.

- the term means—
