Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
This proposal tells the U.S. Attorney General to study whether “extreme risk protection orders” (also called ERPOs or “red flag” laws) actually help reduce gun violence. The study must be done through the Bureau of Justice Assistance and finished within one year after the law takes effect. In short, it’s a research-focused bill to find out what works and what doesn’t when it comes to ERPOs and public safety.
