Referred to the Committee on Natural Resources, and in addition to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.
This bill would stop federal officials from selling, giving away, or otherwise getting rid of federally owned places with historical significance unless Congress approves it first. Before any move, the official must notify Congress, and a joint resolution must pass to allow the action. The rule applies to the President, agency heads, and other federal officials, and it covers federal lands, buildings, structures, monuments, and sites with historical importance.
