HON. NICHOLAS A. LANGWORTHY
of new york
in the house of representatives
Mr. LANGWORTHY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the Town of Hornby in Steuben County, New York, as it celebrates the 200th anniversary of its founding. Established in 1826, the Town of Hornby was formed during a period of rapid growth and settlement across New York's Southern Tier. The town developed as generations of hardworking families transformed its rolling hills and fertile lands into a thriving agricultural community.
have defined rural America: hard work, self-reliance, community service, and a deep connection to the land. Farmers, business owners, educators, veterans, and civic leaders have all contributed to the town's growth and success while preserving the character and traditions that make Hornby a special place to call home.
independence, Hornby's bicentennial provides an opportunity to reflect on two centuries of local history and the many individuals whose dedication helped build and sustain this community. Today, Hornby remains a proud and close-knit community whose residents embody the spirit of service, neighborliness, and perseverance that has defined the town since its earliest days.
congratulate the residents of Hornby on this remarkable bicentennial milestone and extend my best wishes for a successful celebration and continued prosperity in the years ahead.
