At the appropriate place in title II, insert the following:
SEC. 2__. EXPANSION OF MISSION AREAS OF MECHANISMS FOR
EXPEDITED ACCESS TO TECHNICAL TALENT AND
EXPERTISE AT ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS TO SUPPORT
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE MISSIONS TO INCLUDE
CRITICAL MINERALS.
Section 217(e) of the National Defense Authorization Act
for Fiscal Year 2018 (Public Law 115-91; 10 U.S.C. 4001 note)
is amended—
(1) by redesignating paragraph (36) as paragraph (37); and
(2) by inserting after paragraph (35) the following new
paragraph (36):
“(36) Critical minerals.”.
