CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF MICHAEL “MOUSE” MALLIGAN
HON. JOHN JOYCE
of pennsylvania
in the house of representatives
Tuesday, July 21, 2026
Mr. JOYCE of Pennsylvania. Mr. Speaker, I rise to mourn the loss of Michael “Mouse” Malligan, and celebrate his impactful life, which touched so many.
Michael was a proud Penn State employee for 35 years. He was also a devoted fan of Penn State and Pittsburgh sports, and never missed a chance to follow local teams.
Michael's greatest impact on the community came through coaching. As early as age 19, Michael demonstrated a passion for coaching. The desire to mentor and impart his knowledge of sport carried through the playing years of his three sons.
as a coach in parochial league basketball, Little League, and Federation baseball. Like so many others in our community, I was fortunate to have “Mouse” as both a coach and a mentor during my youth.
remembered for the love and dedication that he poured into everyone around him.
we also keep his wife of 47 years, Mary, and all his family in our prayers.
Mouse. While we will miss him, our lives are better for having known him.
