Mr. TURNER. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to draw attention to the birth of two bald eaglets at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio, named “America” and “Independence” in honor of our Nation's 250th birthday.
Independence are now almost fully grown and recently embarked on their first flight. As we celebrate their births, let us not forget the special significance the Bald Eagle holds to our country and how this iconic bird's history is intertwined with our own,
Eagle is a strong and independent, majestic and bold, noble and steadfast creature that embodies the greatest qualities of our Nation. But, not unlike our own history, the Bald Eagle has faced perils of its own.
