Mr. LATIMER. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to call attention to the long- term financial outlook of Social Security.
trust fund will be able to pay full benefits only until the end of 2032.
If Congress does not act to fix this problem, over 3.3 million New Yorkers will be affected by future benefit cuts, with the average retiree in New York seeing their benefits reduced by more than $500.
Social Security before we subject our constituents to a reduction in their hard-earned benefits.
