Mr. FITZPATRICK. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and legacy of Marvin Leonard Woodall of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, who passed away peacefully at the age of 88.
philanthropist, and devoted family man whose remarkable career and service to his community left an enduring impact on countless lives.
professional career with Procter & Gamble before joining Johnson & Johnson in 1963. During his 37-year career with the company, he excelled in 19 positions and ultimately served as President of Johnson & Johnson Interventional Systems. In that role, he was a driving force behind the development of the first coronary stent, a groundbreaking advancement that transformed the field of cardiology and improved the lives of millions of people around the world.
medical community. His vision and generosity helped establish the Woodall Center for Heart and Vascular Care at Doylestown Hospital. He served as CEO of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, president of the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic, and on the boards of numerous medical device companies.
Marvin was equally devoted to his community. After settling in Doylestown in 1985, he and his beloved wife, Dee Ann, became active members of Doylestown Presbyterian Church, where Marvin served as an elder. He generously gave his time and leadership to organizations throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, including the Heritage Conservancy, Bucks County Playhouse Artists, Bucks County Herald Foundation, Bucks County Symphony Orchestra, Bucks County Choral Society, Village Improvement Association, Network of Victim Assistance, Americans for Native Americans, and the Mercer and Michener Museums.
life. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing at Doylestown Country Club and courses around the world. He loved jazz, theater, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. Above all, he cherished his family and the life he built with Dee Ann, his beloved wife of 65 years.
