Mr. MIN. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honor the life and legacy of my friend, Mariam Tariq, a beloved member of the Irvine community who dedicated her life to serving others.
State senate campaign, and I will always remember her as someone who was incredibly kind, whip smart, deeply passionate, and beloved by everyone who knew her.
Mariam believed deeply in public service. From working in congressional and local government offices, including as an APAICS fellow for Representative Judy Chu in 2021, to helping build civic organizations in Irvine, she devoted herself to uplifting underserved communities.
she helped provide clean drinking water, emergency relief, and healthcare to communities in need.
she strengthened, and the countless lives she touched through her service.
Cancer sucks. It took this beautiful person from us far too early. This is a huge loss for Mariam's family, for Orange County, and the world. She will be deeply missed.
