HON. JIM JORDAN

in the house of representatives
Mr. JORDAN. Mr. Speaker, I rise to honor Clifford E. Pinkney, who will be inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Dublin on November 12, 2026, as part of its 2026 class.
Clifford E. Pinkney's life and career are a model for all who would devote themselves to public service. Following his time in the Army, he joined the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Office, where he rose through the ranks to become sheriff in 2015. He earned the acclaim of his peers throughout the Nation for spearheading the creation of inter-agency task forces to combat organized crime and human trafficking. Those who served under him praise his honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity.
Aside from his official duties, Mr. Pinkney devoted a large part of his life to mentoring youth. For more than two decades, he was a youth basketball coach, inspiring young people to achieve their goals through teamwork. He also worked as an official for USA Boxing.
Mr. Speaker, selection for the Hall of Fame is a high honor accorded to no more than twenty Ohioans each year. To be considered, individuals must not only serve our Nation honorably in the military but also reflect the high value of service to others in their post-military careers. I am pleased to join in the accolades for Clifford Pinkney and his outstanding record of service as he will be inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.
