Establishes the “Advancing Menopause Care and Mid-Life Women’s Health Act.”
Aims to improve menopause care and mid-life women’s health through various measures.
Directs the NIH to coordinate and expand research on menopause and mid-life women’s health, including the impact of menopausal symptoms on women’s health and the development of new treatments.
Authorizes grants for biomedical and public health research on menopause.
Requires the NIH to categorize research on chronic conditions related to menopause and to coordinate research on acute and chronic menopausal symptoms.
Expands translational research to accelerate the application of research findings to menopause care.
Enhances public health research and data reporting on menopause and mid-life women’s health.
Establishes a public health promotion and prevention program focusing on chronic conditions affecting mid-life women’s health.
Creates a public health awareness, education, and outreach program on menopause and mid-life women’s health.
Funds training programs to improve care and treatment of menopausal symptoms for health professionals.
Designates Centers of Excellence in Menopause Care and Mid-Life Women’s Health to improve professional training and distribute resources on menopause care.
Requires annual reporting on the progress of activities under the Act, including information on federal research activities, barriers to care, and recommendations for improving access to menopause-related services.
Encourages coordination of activities under the Act with other federal efforts related to menopause, mid-life women’s health, aging, or public health promotion.
Authorizes appropriations of $25,000,000 for fiscal years 2025 through 2029 for research activities, and $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 for public health promotion, awareness, education, outreach, and training programs.
