Legislation Details

Amends the Agriculture and Consumer Protection Act of 1973 to establish a pilot program for home delivery of commodities under the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
Aims to increase access for low-income elderly individuals to food commodities through home delivery services.
Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis to State agencies to implement the program.
Maximum grant amount is capped at $4 million or a calculated amount based on the CSFP caseload multiplied by $60, whichever is lesser.
State agencies must submit applications to the Secretary of Agriculture to receive grant funding.
Grant funds can be used for transportation, distribution, staffing for home delivery services, and outreach to potential participants.
Priority for grant distribution will be given to entities serving participants in rural areas.
State agencies are required to report to the Secretary on project activities, effectiveness, and best practices within 180 days after the end of the fiscal year in which they receive the grant.
An authorization of $10 million per fiscal year from 2025 to 2027 is provided to support the program.
