Amends title XIX of the Social Security Act to establish a minimum Medicaid disproportionate share hospital (DSH) allotment for states.
Introduces a minimum DSH allotment amount for fiscal years after 2024.
Specifies that the DSH allotment for any state shall not be less than the established minimum amount.
Sets the minimum DSH allotment amount at $20,000,000 for fiscal years 2025 through 2029.
For fiscal year 2030 and beyond, the minimum DSH allotment will be equal to the previous year’s amount, adjusted for inflation.
Aims to provide consistent financial support to hospitals serving a high number of low-income patients.
