Legislation Details

Directs the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to implement anti-fraud and abuse recommendations from a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report titled “Aviation: FAA Needs to Better Prevent, Detect, and Respond to Fraud and Abuse Risks in Aircraft Registration.”
The GAO report, dated March 25, 2020, includes 15 recommendations for the FAA, emphasizing the need for the FAA to collect and verify information on aircraft ownership.
Requires the FAA to submit a report to Congress detailing the implementation of these recommendations.
Specifies that the FAA must implement these recommendations within 180 days after the enactment of the legislation.
The FAA’s report to Congress must be submitted within 60 days after the implementation of the recommendations.
The report from the FAA is to be submitted to the Committees on the Judiciary and Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate, the Committees on the Judiciary and Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives, and the Caucus on International Narcotics Control of the Senate.
